No início deste blog eu tive a idéia de toda semana analisar as cores de fotografias, composições, objetos, ambientes, em uma série que chamei de "As cores da semana". O intuito era encontrar e pensar sobre combinações de cores, uso de paletas diferentes, ou seja, era um estudo, uma busca por referências para alimentar a alma e acostumar o olho. O fato é que não levei a idéia adiante e há meses não posto nada sobre.

Só que, nesta semana, uma coisa me inspirou a voltar com a série: o trabalho de Malene B.

Malene B. é uma designer americana de tapetes que tem um trabalho lindo inspirado em diversas culturas. Ela trabalha incrivelmente com os grafismos, fazendo releituras espetaculares e usando muito bem as cores.


Esse tapete é inspirado em Mehndi - técnica de desenhar nas mãos e nos pés com henna, comum principalmente na Índia. O fundo vinho traz sofisticação e combina muito bem com o chão escuro. O vermelho - a cor da henna - combinado com o coral dos grafismos ilumina e enche o ambiente de energia.

Espero encontrar outras imagens tão bonitas quanto as do trabalho de Malene B. para continuar esta série, que para mim é muito inspiradora.

Colors of India

At the beginning of this blog, I had the idea to analyse the colors of pictures, compositions, objects and interiors every week, in a series called "The colors of the week". The purpose was to find and think about color combinations and the use of different palettes. it was a study, searching for references to feed the soul and to train the eyes. But I coudn't carry on the series. For months I didn't post anything.
However, this week, I found something that inspired me to return to the series: Malene B.'s work.
Malene B. is an American carpet designer and she does great work inspired by several cultures. She works incredibly with the graphics, rebuilding so amazingly and using the colors very well. This rug is inspired by Mehendi - a technique of drawing on hands and feet with henna, mainly practiced in India. The color of wine brings sophistication and combines nicely with the dark floor. The red - the color of henna - and the coral of the artwork light up and fill the room with energy.
I hope to find other images as wonderful as Malene's to continue this series that is very inspiring for me.

Era uma vez uma cadeira velha...


Estava triste, no lixo e eu pensei: quero muito essa cadeira para mim. Minha casa tem espaço e eu tenho tempo para ela. Trouxe-a. E no final, fomos, cadeira e eu, felizes para sempre.





Obs. A almofada também fiz! Meu primeiro trabalho em patchwork. =)

Once upon a time, there was an old chair.
It was sad, in the garbage, then I thought: I really want this chair. I have space and time for it. I picked it up. And we, the chair and I, lived happily ever after.
